1. How can I be saved?

No man is without sin. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23).

All sinners are on the way to hell.  "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in  Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)

But Jesus Christ took man's sin with Him to the cross on which He died. "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)

So that if we repent of our sin and believe that Jesus died on the cross for our sin and was raised from the dead,  we will be saved. "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9)

Only those who have accepted Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior of their lives will spend eternity in heaven.  The Bible says today is the day of salvation.  Jesus is knocking on the door of your heart right now.  The Lord doesn't want anyone to spend eternity in hell, but wants all men to repent and be saved.  Answer the door of your heart.  Allow the Lord to come in to change you, heal you, restore you, and make you whole.  Only through repentance will your conversion come.  Jesus gave His life and in so doing, paid the price for your salvation.  Yield to His spirit and pray this prayer in faith today:

Lord, I know that according to your Word, I must be born again to see the kingdom of God.  Father, I confess that I am a sinner in need of repentance.  Right now, Lord, I willingly give you my life.  I give the Holy Spirit full permission to cleanse me and cause me to be brand new.  I renounce my sins, I turn from evil, and I make the choice to live for you, Jesus.  Jesus, I believe that you shed your blood for me, you died for me, and you rose again from the dead.  Lord, I know that I need you; I no longer desire to be in control of my life, I give you control.  Be my Lord and Savior from this day forward.  I thank you Lord for hearing my prayer and for the gift of eternal life you are now giving me.  Amen.

Scripture on salvation:

"Jesus answered and said to him, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.' Nicodemus said to Him, 'How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born, can he?' "Jesus answered, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not be amazed that I said to you, "You must be born again.'" John 3:3-7

"The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." 2 Peter 3:9

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved." Romans 10:13

"It is a trustworthy statement deserving full acceptance. For it is for this we labor and strive, because we have fixed our hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of believers." 1 Timothy 4:9-10

"But the free gift is not like the transgression. For if by the transgression of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many." Romans 5:15

"But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior." Titus 3:4-6

2. Will God really forgive ALL my sin?

Just about every possible sin is mentioned somewhere in the New Testament, and every one of them falls into the category of forgivable.  Regardless of what you've done, God will forgive you if you just ask.  There is just one thing God won't forgive, and that is unbelief.  Salvation is by faith and faith alone...faith in the death of Christ for your sin. If you are unsaved, you can receive salvation this very moment by praying a simple prayer expressing your trust in Christ alone for the payment of your sin.  Acknowledge that you sin, accept Christ's payment for your sin, receive His forgiveness, and thank Him for the gift of eternal life.  Salvation is a gift, all you have to do is accept it.

Scripture on forgiveness:

"How blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered! How blessed is the man to whom the LORD does not impute iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no deceit!" Psalm 32:1-2

"You forgave the iniquity of Your people; You covered all their sin." Psalm 85:2

"As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us." Psalm 103:12

"'Come now, and let us reason together,' says the LORD, 'Though your sins are as scarlet, they will be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they will be like wool.'" Isaiah 1:18

"I, even I, am the one who wipes out your transgressions for My own sake, and I will not remember your sins." Isaiah 43:25

"Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return to the LORD, and He will have compassion on him, and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon." Isaiah 55:7

"I will cleanse them from all their iniquity by which they have sinned against Me, and I will pardon all their iniquities by which they have sinned against Me and by which they have transgressed against Me." Jeremiah 33:8

"Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father who is in heaven will also forgive you your transgressions." Mark 11:25

"Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come." 2 Corinthians 5:17

"To the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace." Ephesians 1:6-7

"When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions." Colossians 2:13

"Bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you." Colossians 3:13

"For I will be merciful to their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more." Hebrews 8:12

"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9

3. How can I be absolutely sure I'm saved?

Thank God our feelings are not an assurance of our salvation. If you can answer yes to the following questions, you are saved.

The Bible says you can be sure you are saved if you love others.  Yes, if you can love them in spite of what they've done to you, this is a true sign that you are a child of God. Do you love others with a Christ-like love?

The Bible says that those that believe in Him will have the witness in them.  Do you share your testimony with others?

Before Christ, man lived under the law. Since Christ, we live by grace.  But, if you're truly saved, you'll long to obey Christ's commandments. The Bible says if He is in us, we will keep His commandments. The saved should have a burning desire to be just like Jesus. Do you have a yearning to live according to God's word, to keep his commandments?  Do you feel any shame when you fail the One who has given His life for you?

SUGGESTED READINGS:

Just Like Jesus by Max Lucado.  This book is an eye-opening study of who we should be.  "God loves you just the way you are, but he refuses to leave you that way. He wants you to be..........Just Like Jesus."    "What if for 24 hours Jesus wakes up in your bed, walks in your shoes, lives in your house, assumes your schedule?... What if for one day Jesus lives your life with his heart?       Within these opening lines ly the premise of Max Lucado's book about the possibility of becoming "just like Jesus." In recounting the biblical stories of Jesus' life and deeds, Lucado then explains how Jesus' acts of compassion, forgiveness, honesty, and faith can be reflected in anyone's everyday life. Lucado's concrete analogy of "just like Jesus" helps many readers grasp the fundamentals of Christianity in a new and inspiring way. Furthermore, in taking on the values, heart and deeds of Jesus, Lucado believes, Christians can expect a richer, more accessible relationship with God. "Jesus had unbroken communion with his father," writes Lucado. "Do you suppose the Father desires the same for us? Absolutely ... God has the same abiding intimacy with you that he had with his son."

Hinds Feet on High Places by Hannah Hurnard.  I loved this wonderfully exquisite allegory dramatizing the journey each of us must take before we can live in "high places".  It is a awesome work that relates so well God's love for us.  It assures us that He is always there and will always hear us when we cry to Him.  It is an amazing story of the challenges Christians face and a Biblical account of how we are to proceed - that following Christ means dying to self to live for Him. This is one of the most beautifully written books I have ever read.

4. How can I learn God's will for my life?

The Bible is our guide for knowing God's will for our life.  It reveals His wisdom and His ways. Scripture on seeking God's will:
